Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Schools of 50 students or fewer use Tocademy free, permanently — core academics, report cards and attendance, with no card and no time limit. Above 50 students you move to a paid plan, which starts with a free trial so you have time to arrange payment. How long that trial runs depends on whether your school is new to Tocademy or moving up from the free plan.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, upgrade or downgrade at any time from your school's settings. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.
How am I billed?
Per school term, and per student. Your bill for a term is the number of students on your roll multiplied by your plan's rate, and the invoice is issued for the term ahead.
Can I add students after I have paid?
Yes. On the per-student model, students added after an invoice is settled are reconciled into a top-up for the difference, and you can buy extra seats in bulk at any time.
What happens if I outgrow my plan's student limit?
Only Free (50 students) and Basic (500 students) set a limit, and on those you'll be prompted to move up before you can enroll beyond it — nothing is disabled abruptly. Every other plan accepts any number of students — you're billed for the students you have that term, however large your school gets.
